Legal
Privacy Policy
We keep this simple: we collect what we need to run Ponderspace, nothing more. No advertising, no selling your data.

Who is responsible
Ponderspace is the data controller for the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, write to hello@ponderspace.app.
What we collect
- Account data — your email address, and the name, short bio and avatar URL you choose to add.
- Your content — rabbit holes, threads, saved finds, personal notes and the up/down votes you give results.
- Usage data — searches you run, counts used for monthly limits, and a short-lived record of your IP address for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
- Billing data — subscription status, period dates and a customer reference from our payment provider. We never receive your full card number.
Why we use it (and our legal basis)
- To provide the service and store what you save — performance of our contract with you.
- To personalise results from your votes so exploration improves over time — performance of our contract.
- To enforce usage limits, prevent abuse and keep the service secure — our legitimate interest.
- To take payment and meet accounting obligations — contract and legal obligation.
We do not use your data for advertising or profiling outside the product itself.
Who processes data for us
- Our cloud hosting, database and authentication provider (EU-hosted).
- Our payment provider, for checkout, subscriptions and invoices.
- Our AI provider, which receives the wording of your search and public metadata about candidate sources in order to interpret and sequence results.
- Public content sources — podcast and research catalogues — which receive search terms only, never your identity.
Where a provider processes data outside the EEA, transfers rely on standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Your account data and content are kept while your account exists. Rate-limiting records are kept for a short period. Billing records are kept as long as tax law requires. Deleting your account removes your rabbit holes, finds, notes and votes.
Cookies and local storage
We use only what the app needs: a session cookie to keep you signed in, and local storage for your theme choice and an in-progress exploration so it survives sign-up. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Editing your profile and deleting your account can be done in the app; for anything else, email hello@ponderspace.app and we'll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your national data protection authority (in Norway, Datatilsynet).
Children
Ponderspace isn't intended for children under 16.
Changes
If we change how we handle personal data in a meaningful way, we'll update this page and tell you in the app or by email.
